Baked Lasagna

Baked Lasagna with comforting layers of pasta, rich tomato sauce, hearty meat, and melted mozzarella cheese — all baked to gooey perfection.

INGREDIENTS:

9 piecesSan Giorgio® Lasagna
2 Tbspsolive oil
1onion, diced
1garlic clove, chopped
1 lbground beef
1 can(28 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
1 can(6 oz) no-salt added tomato paste
12 ozwater
1 tspsalt
1/8 tspground black pepper
1 tspfresh basil leaves
15 ozricotta cheese
1/2 lbshredded mozzarella cheese
6 Tbspsshredded Parmesan cheese
non-stick cooking spray

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Prepare oven to 350ºF.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat saute onion and garlic in oil. Add meat and brown. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, water, salt, pepper and basil. Simmer 1 hour.
  3. Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain. Pat pasta dry and lay flat on a cookie sheet.
  4. Coat a 7 x 11-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Place three pieces of pasta on bottom of dish. Top with 1/3 meat sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Bake 30 minutes. Cover with foil and let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
