Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Baked Macaroni and Cheese is the ultimate comfort food. Tender macaroni pasta smothered in creamy cheese sauce and baked to golden perfection.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups | San Giorgio® Elbow Macaroni |
4 Tbsps | butter |
2 Tbsps | flour |
2 Tbsps | onion, minced |
2 cups | milk |
2 cups | shredded American cheese |
1 tsp | salt |
1/2 tsp | ground black pepper |
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF.
- Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour and onion. Gradually stir in milk and bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
- Stir in cheese, salt and pepper until cheese has melted. Stir in cooked pasta.
- Pour into a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake 30 minutes.
Tips
Add 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs over the top before baking for a crispy top layer.
